We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join the Financial Management Applications team of a major Belgian utility organisation. The consultant will be responsible for the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of ABAP applications across SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA environments, with a strong focus on SAP FI-CO. The role includes developing and maintaining ABAP Web Dynpro applications, contributing to the modernisation of the SAP development landscape, working with RAP and CDS, and integrating SAP Virtual Data Models. The consultant will provide technical support for SAP FI-CO applications, collaborate with functional and technical teams, work according to Agile methodologies and established development standards, and apply secure coding principles using ATC to ensure code quality, security and compliance.

Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience developing ABAP-based applications. Minimum 5 years of experience with SAP FI-CO. Strong hands-on experience with SAP R/3. Demonstrable experience with ABAP Web Dynpro. At least 6 months of hands-on experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) within the last 2 years. At least 6 months of hands-on experience with SAP Core Data Services (CDS) and the SAP Virtual Data Model within the last 2 years. Native or near-native Dutch proficiency at CEFR C2 level is mandatory. Preferred experience includes a minimum 3 years of experience with SAP CRM, at least 1 year of experience with SAP SD, experience with secure coding practices in ABAP, strong knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, experience using ABAP Test Cockpit for quality control and code analysis, experience with ABAP Cloud Development, and experience with SAP extensibility tiers. Previous participation in at least one assignment involving the ABAP Cloud Development Model and extensibility tiers is considered a strong asset. The ideal candidate combines strong traditional ABAP expertise with recent hands-on experience in modern SAP development technologies such as RAP, CDS and ABAP Cloud, and is comfortable working in a complex SAP landscape supporting financial processes.
