Senior SCADA Software Engineer / Developer

Join a development team responsible for a business-critical SCADA platform operating 24/7 across several European countries. You will develop and maintain the Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA X / SYS600 platform, working on both backend and frontend components for real-time monitoring and control of power generation assets. The role involves supporting communication between TSOs and the SCADA platform, building functionality for real-time setpoints, and contributing to grid balancing mechanisms. You will also troubleshoot production incidents, participate in on-call support after onboarding, and continuously improve architecture, development practices, and system resilience. What we're looking for Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electromechanics or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, with a strong software engineering background in architecture, clean code and design patterns. Experience with highly available, stable or business-critical applications is required, and knowledge of SCADA, industrial control systems, power generation or the energy sector is a strong advantage. Familiarity with SCIL is important, and specific SYS600 SCIL programming training will be required early in the mission. The candidate should understand electricity production and transmission grids, be comfortable with critical systems, troubleshoot incidents quickly, work autonomously, and be willing to join an on-call support rotation. Experience with Hitachi/ABB MicroSCADA, electricity balancing, FCR/aFRR/mFRR, or power generation environments would be particularly valuable.
