Senior ICT Architect – Data Integration & Digital Government

We are looking for a Senior ICT Architect to join a strategic Data Integration team within a large Belgian public-sector organisation. The role focuses on shaping the vision, architecture and future evolution of digital services for data sharing, proactive public services and automated decision support. You will work closely with Product Owners, developers, business stakeholders and fellow architects to translate strategic objectives into scalable, maintainable and sustainable technical solutions. The position also involves supporting architectural governance, stakeholder workshops and the broader transformation toward a data-driven public administration. What we're looking for Minimum 5 years of experience as a Specialist Architect or Enterprise Architect, with strong architectural expertise in at least one domain such as application architecture, integration architecture, infrastructure, security, data, business processes, networking, ERP/ECM, or data warehouse/BI. Minimum 5 years of experience analysing, modelling and optimising business processes and information flows, designing solution architectures in complex organisations, and working with SOAP API development and integration architecture. Minimum 5 years of practical experience with Java and Spring Boot, plus proven experience in a public-sector services or data integrator environment. Strong knowledge of architecture and modelling techniques such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, UML and Sparx Enterprise Architect, along with a solid understanding of business processes and project management fundamentals. Dutch at CEFR C2 level is mandatory. Nice to have: experience within a Belgian public-sector or government environment, BPMN and/or ArchiMate, digital transformation and data sharing in complex organisations, REST, training/coaching teams, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and proactive services, rule management or decision-support systems.
