Microsoft 365 & Modern Workplace System Engineer

A large organisation operating a complex hybrid IT environment is strengthening its Digital Workplace team. The team implements, operates and continuously improves workplace technologies and collaboration services used across the organisation. The Microsoft 365 & Modern Workplace System Engineer will support these services through hands-on system administration, troubleshooting, implementation, automation and documentation, collaborating with infrastructure, security and application teams and external suppliers. What we're looking for - Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a System Administrator. - Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 environments. - Proven experience with Microsoft Modern Workplace and endpoint management. - Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune. - Proven experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory. - Proven experience with MDM solutions, including iOS devices. - Strong experience with Windows environments. - AZ-104 certification. - AZ-900 certification. - MS-102 certification. - Fluent English. - Fluent French or Dutch. Nice-to-have - Experience with Exchange Online. - Experience with hybrid cloud / on-premise environments. - Experience with MFA and Conditional Access. - Knowledge of ITIL processes. - Experience with Windows Autopilot. - Experience with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API. Additional details The role covers managing and supporting Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace services, supporting workplace technology rollouts, and contributing to standard configurations and technical best practices. It includes configuring Microsoft Intune; managing compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, endpoint security and Windows device lifecycles; supporting Windows 11 and iOS device management; and contributing to Windows Autopilot provisioning. Responsibilities also include managing identities in Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, supporting hybrid identity, troubleshooting access issues, and contributing to identity security practices. The engineer supports Exchange Online administration and messaging stability; resolves complex incidents and provides Level 2 and Level 3 support; contributes to root-cause analysis and operational and infrastructure changes; and automates activities using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API and other relevant technologies. The role supports Microsoft 365 migrations and infrastructure changes, technical design and implementation, and established ITIL processes, particularly change management. It also involves maintaining technical documentation, creating procedures and operational guidelines, sharing knowledge within the Digital Workplace team and improving operational practices. The profile is hands-on and operational, with work across identity, endpoint management, collaboration services and hybrid environments, combining troubleshooting, implementation, automation and documentation. The engineer works autonomously, communicates clearly and collaborates effectively with infrastructure, security and application teams.
